Action Tunes by Mary Alice Rich: Violin Parts
Written to commemorate the 100th birthday of world-renowned pedagogue, Paul Rolland, these 8 pieces, including a student part and a teacher part, are key to establishing fine movement patterns leading to balanced, healthy playing. The pieces can be played as a duet between student and teacher, or other string instruments playing essentially the same parts can be added. The very accessible piano parts are essentially both the student and teacher parts combined. Ms Rich, whose web site is MaryAliceRich.com, allows unlimited downloads of the tunes. Her generosity is noted here with great appreciation. How to Measure Violin or Viola Ribs
To measure the ribs of your instrument, the measurement only needs to be taken of the height of the wood between the seams of the top and back instrument plates. This measurement is preferably done in millimeters, but Gary will covert a measurement done in inches.
